    Hello,

You can solve this error by generating a new key. Locate where your current certificates are and remove the files.

Exclamation Re: private key, certificate and password mismatch

    Hello,

obviously this is not a single appearance, I (and at least one other) got the same problem (see thread with identical problem http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...336#post305336 ).
And I didn't find any solution yet though trying hard , and I don't really have any more ideas...

So once again can plz someone (perhaps any Developer???) give us some hints?

    thx

Lightbulb Re: private key, certificate and password mismatch

    Hi

I am not sure if your problem is solved.

Here is what you can do to solve the issue.

    Solution 1:-
    ------------
For this solution I assume that you have got the code signing certificate from Verisign or Trustcenter.de

Download the .PFX file from Internet Explorer, make sure you check the Export "Yes, export the private key", give a dummy password (for instance 1234) in the following screen and save the PFX file (for instance test.pfx)

Use vs_pkcs.exe which can be downloaded from Verisign Site, save the vs_pkcs.exe file in the same directory where you have saved your test.pfx file.

Go to Command Prompt using the Run / CMD , go to the directory where you have stored your PFX file and the vs_pkcs.exe file (make sure that both the files exists in the same directory)

    Try the following command line

    vs_pkcs -p12 test.pfx -passwd 1234 -cer MyCert.cer -key MyKey.key

If everything is fine, these files will be created and Succeeded! message will be shown on the Command Prompt.

Now go to Carbide UI Theme Creator, Select Tools / Handle Key Pairs

    Click on the New button
Give a Dummy Name for the Key Pair , for instance : MyKeyPair
Locate the Private Key file (this file will be available on the same directory where you have executed the vs_pkcs.exe )
Locate the Certificate file (this file will be available on the same directory where you have executed the vs_pkcs.exe )
Now leave the password column blank, dont enter the password and Click on the Save button.

    Solution No : 2
    --------------
In case if you are using self signing

Go to Carbide UI Theme Creator
Select Tools / Handle Key Pairs
    Select Make Keys Option

Dont leave any fields blank, enter the valid data for all the following fields
    Common Name:
    Organization Unit
    Organization
    Country (two letter code only)
    Email Address

Location for the Key File (should be a valid path)
Location for the Certificate File (should be a valid path)
Password (if need be you can leave it blank, if you are entering make sure that you have entered a 6 digit password)
Confirm Password (repeat the above password carefully)

After this click on Generate button

Give a proper Key Pair Name
    Check the Save Password Option
And Click on the Save Button

This should solve your problem if you are using the self signing keys

    Hope this helps!!!!!

    Thanks

    Thilak

Re: private key, certificate and password mismatch

    hey guys,

got the same problems, i'm a newbie just trying to create a theme for myself...

really have no clue about those key an signing stuff. isn't there a way without that?

even this solution 2 you thilakraj posted doesn't work for me, as i understood one has to pay for the first way shown?

and here an open question to anyone concerned:

why is it necessary to make this "easy way for graphic designers to show their individualism" so hard and not available for eveybody?

    thx

May be the problem is on the phone. Try to configure the installation settings under Application manager.select Tools -> App mgr -> Settings -> Software installation and choose the correct setting.
Consult the help system for further information.

    Good luck!
