We can make a simple comparison by comparing its sizes..

But if the sizes also same how we can make the comparison...??

I presume you mean comparing the plain file, or doing some other kind of comparison (ie. you could use FFT, Hidden Markov Models, etc?)
A simple approach is just using RFile, reading a buffer (in a loop), and do a bit comparison (See TDesC::Compare()). Of course, a better approach would be comparing the plain data, without considering header and other metadata.

Re: comparison of 2 audio files

my basic aim is to some how recognize the words speak by the users(there are limited words only).
for that there are 3 options

    1. to use speech recognition APIS but they are not available to all users.it can only be used by symbian partners on s60 3rd edition.
    2. i can use voice tags but i m unable to find apis using which i can do this.
    3. i can compare audio files but that also doesnot seem possible in sdk.

can any one suggest what to do?

    thanks in advance

You'll certainly have to implement it by yourself.

I am sorry. A small query again.
Is it possible to get speech recognition APIS or any other SDKS provided by symbian partners that makes the task possible.

    Please do reply.
    Thanks

AFAIK there is no such APIS for that task and as Puzhl says You'll certainly have to implement it by yourself.
