Question Sending keypad signals via WLAN ?

    Hi,

I am a student and I'm new in developing software for mobiles. I use CarbideC++ and S60 3rd Edition FP1.
Within a project I have a little task: The Nokia N95 should send the keypad signals that the user enters, via WLAN to a router in the form of UDP packages.
Because I´m not familiar with this, I cannot estimate how complex this task is. It would be a great help for me, if somebody can tell me how I have to proceed and if this task is possible at all.
    Thank you so far.

    Regards

    Hi,

The task that you want to do is pretty simple however you would require a little in depth knowledge on active objects and socket programming typically.
You would basically setup a socket connection to the server and use the socket to send the udp packets containing the information bout the key event. typically you can have a look up table on the server side to identify the key that has been pressed. Get in touch once you need more info and help.

    Regards,
    Pavan

Re: Sending keypad signals via WLAN

    Hi,

now I got in touch with active ojects and socket programming. I am able to send a predefined text via WLAN with UDP. Therefore I created a new active object class.
I am also able to get the key events. But I do this with the OfferKeyEventL methode in myAppView. Now I don´t know how to get the key events from myAppView to my active object. It should only be send a message like "ArrowUp" to the server, so that the server will do the rest.
But how to get KeyEvents to active object?

    Regards
