    Autofocus on N73

    Hello,

I would like to trigger the autofocus on a N73 device. My application is written in Java. All I've read about this topic, it is possible from native C++ only. Currently the JSR-234 doesn't support autofocus (not yet implemented) and furthermore JSR-234 is not supported by the device, that's right? What can I do to trigger the autofocus? Is it possible to wrap C++ function to Java on mobile devices (I know one can do it on a PC environment via shared library)? Many thanks for every hint...

    Regards,

    Sascha

Hi s.lumma! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!

Yes, N73 does not support JSR 234. And its not possible to wrap a C++ function in a Java app. May be MIDPJNI is of some use to you http://midpjni.com/

    Regards
    Gopal

    Re: Autofocus on N73

    Hi,

thank you for your reply. Can I expect the availability of JSR-234 in near future for the N73 device? May be per firmware update? What is the difference to the N95 device, that supports the JSR-234? I thought the N73 is just a pared-down version, without wireless lan and gps but the same environment...

Nevertheless, I will try to check out MIDPJNI. Thanks for this...

No, JSR 234 could not be added along with a firmware upgrade. And you cannot expect JSR 234 in N73.
    N73 is S60 3rd Edition(Symbian OS v9.1) and N95 is S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1(Symbian OS v9.2)
