Attached please find the API and class cross reference table for the Nokia S60 5th Edition. It provides a convenience to find the library to link to once a class is used in the source code.

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

Today, I just read a good article on indentifying the "installation failure" root cause. Basically:

The hack, available on S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 and later Symbian based devices, consists in creating one “flag” file, c:\temp\swierrors.txt. If this file exists the software installer’s UI will augment the error message with the actual error code which triggered the error message currently displayed. See below screen captures showing the same install time error without and then with the flag file created.

The detailed article can be found at:

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

    Hi Liuxg,

    Best Regard!

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

I personally do not think there should be any problem with the code. Please create the CleanupStack and active scheduler if you use it in an EXE app.

Sending SMS uses active object to do it. I do not why you use it another thread. It is an asynchronous realization. Sending message is done in the messaging server. It normally does not block the execution of your application much. I personally do not see any reason why it should be created in another thread although it can be done so!

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

    thanks!

A SIX explorer can be found at:

    http://www.symbian-toys.com/sisxplorer.aspx#download

It can be used to view and extract the files in a .sis packaged file.

A same tool can be found at:

Re: 3rd and 5th Edition application development

When we do testing for preinstalled applications, quite often, we need to restore factory settings. Here are the commands you may want to use:

    Soft Reset/Normal Reset:
With this method, the mobile setting are restored to factory settings. But it does not remove applications, games or anything installed. To do this reset press *#7780#.

    Deep Reset:
It is the most common way to reset your mobile. It will erase all the bugs and errors in your phone including all installed applications and games on your phone memory. *#7370#

If it asks for lockcode then enter 12345.
