Why MMSC returns error code 599?

Sometimes I get this kind of error message while sending MMS message to Multimedia Service Center using MMSLibrary. Does anyone know the reason why this error occures or what does this mean?

java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 599 for URL: http://xxxxx.xxxxxx.xxx:7080
com.nokia.mms.MMSenderException: Server returned HTTP response code: 599 for URL: http://xxxxx.xxxxxx.xxx:7080

RE: Why MMSC returns error code 599?

We were told this is because the MSSC only accepts 5 messages per second, and if this exceeded a 599 error status is returned.

RE: Why MMSC returns error code 599?

    Hi,

That means "Number of recipients exceeded". Number of recipients is by default one recipient at the time per EAIF instance. For some cases we have raised it to for example five if needed.

Also the number of message throughput as said in thekobbler1's answer can be set in MMSC's configuration -- at the moment for example Forum Nokia's MMSC msg throughtput has been set to five messages per second.

    Best regards,

    Samuli / Forum Nokia
