Installing Signed Midlet on phone using bluetooth, cable.

    Hi guys,

I am trying to install my signed midlet on my phone Nokia 3230 using cable or bluetooth but, it is giving me error.

I tried copying both my jar and jad file to the phone, and I clicked on the jad file, it says "Operation failed", does than mean application cannot be installed on nokia using the jad file?

I also found out that when installing from jar file, the midlet will remain untrusted (http://www.spindriftpages.net/pebble...641917692.html)

How then can I install my signed midlet on my phone, I noticed the jar manifest do not have the MIDlet-Jar-RSA-SHA1 and MIDlet-Certificate-1-1 attributes but the Jad file has.

I have seen alot of sign file and this is ow it has always been.

Though I ve not tried download over OTA, but I want to blieve I can install signed midlet with cable, bluetooth, infrared.

If you have any info, can u help on this?

    Lekkie.

Should work. Which root certificate are you using (VeriSign, thawte or Java Verified)? Are they present on the phone, too? Date of you phone correct?

    I use VeriSign.

How can I check if it(root certificate) is present on phone? I use a sony-Ericsson w800i.

Is that a certificte for Internet (SSL/TLS) or code-signing? You need the latter.
    Nokia S60 > Menu > Tools > Settings > Security > Certification management > MIDP VeriSign > Options > trust settings > App. installation > Yes.
    Sony Ericsson > Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Internet settings > Security > Java certificate > VeriSign Class 3 > View > Status > Active

Do you know the Nokia‘s tutorial on this topic and the Sony Ericsson Developer World?
