    jar as theme background

    hi every body,
i am new to themes and carbide.ui
i have themes with sis extension
i want to change the back ground of the theme to animated image
what i did is that i made midlet application (jar) to show the images
what i need now is to make that application run as the background of the theme
does any body have any idea about how to do this?
can i open the theme on the carbide ui and tell tha carbide to take that jar as the back ground?

sorry if the question is trivial but i know nothing about the themes structure or how to deal with it

so please make the answers detailed as possible

    thanks in advance

    Re: jar as theme background

You cannot link jar file to the background using the carbide.ui (I am not sure whether this is possible at all...).

There is a way how to animate the background in carbide.ui, but it has nothing to do with the jar files

    Re: jar as theme background

    hi every body,
i followed your advice and i tried to use the carbide ui to do create animated theme.but i found that the carbide ui do animation to vector images(.svg)
and this is not my case.

what i need to do is :

i have raster images(.jpg) and i have already made themes .sis
i need to remove the background of my sis themes and put new animated background ,so i thought to make a jar file to animate my jpg and i want it to be displayed to the background of my theme

if any body has any idea about how to do that or how to work around to animate the background of theme sis plz let me now

this issue is urgent to me and replies are appreciated

    Re: jar as theme background

    No can do.

You are limited by first of all what kind of animated backgrounds the phone supports. In the case of S60 based phones, I think it means no support exists for S60 3rd Edition and earlier, but some support is, I think, in S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 (which means even if you get such a theme done, it will only animate in a phone based on FP1 or later, except that later phones do not exist yet).

Then you need to create it using Carbide.ui using the tools/formats it requires you to use.

So, I'm afraid, you can forget about using (or trying to use) Java to animate JPEG files on the standby screen or other backgrounds (except maybe on the background of your own app).

What is that way? Could you please tell me how to put an animated background on a phone based on S60 3rd edition FP1 or 2.
    Thanks!
