    TCP Window Size

    Hello all, not sure if this is best forum to post (others could be Symbian and WLAN), but here goes.

    We are getting ready to test some video streaming over WLAN using openC.

    We were wondering if anyone has any experience increasing TCP window size as a throughput boost? This can be easily done on Windows and we would like to see if this is possible using OpenC, or Symbian S60 SDK?

    Thanks!

    Re: TCP Window Size

    /* An example of server code that sets the TCP window size */

    int window_size = 128 * 1024; /* 128 kilobytes */

    sock = socket(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0);

    /* These setsockopt()s must happen before the accept() */

    setsockopt(sock, SOL_SOCKET, SO_SNDBUF,
    (char *) &window_size, sizeof(window_size));

    setsockopt(sock, SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVBUF,
    (char *) &window_size, sizeof(window_size));

    Re: TCP Window Size

    Great, I was thinking more along the lines of a registry setting, but I now see this can be programmed as a socket opt, a much better and obviously more portable solution!

    Thanks for your feedback on this. I'll do some testing over WLAN and benchmark the results.
