    Problems opening an ISO14443Connection

    Hi,

    I have a problem trying to open an ISO14443Connection...Connector.open() just hangs!
    This is my source (standard) code:

    ...
    String uri = System.getProperty("internal.se.url");
    ISO14443Connection mfConn = (ISO14443Connection) Connector.open(uri);
    ...
    the url is valid but Connector.open() never returns!!

    Any suggestions?

    Regards,
    GiSeAl

    Re: Problems opening an ISO14443Connection

    Hi,

    First of all, the property you have is correct and should work.

    However, in the version 1.0 of the emulator the internal connection
    has not been implemented properly. Firstly, the system property
    key in the emulator is incorrect. In the emulator it is 'internal.sc.url'
    whereas it should be 'internal.se.url'. This can be corrected by editing
    <SDK>/lib/system_config file (see the last line in the file).

    Unfortunately, correcting the property is not enough. The implementation
    for the connection is broken too. Trying to open the correct url in
    emulator hangs. This problem has been fixed in the version 1.1 of the SDK,
    which is due out soon. Until that I am afraid that you need to test the
    midlet on the phone.

    I've already tested the midlet on the phone and I've obtained the same problem..

    Hmm, works for me though. I used the attached midlet to test
    the connection opening and it worked if the midlet was signed. Unsigned
    midlet threw security exception as expected but did not hang.

    So, I can't test my midlet because it's not signed..
    My phone is a 6131 NFC, how can I retrieve a certificate?

    ps: thank you for you attention!

    You can purchase one from Verisign or Thawte (java code signing certificate).

    Re: Problems opening an ISO14443Connection

    @tsavinen:

    How do you get the url of an external smart card?
    I tried the following code, but it doesn´t detect a smart card:

    ...
    try {
    DiscoveryManager dm = DiscoveryManager.getInstance();
    dm.addTargetListener(this, TargetType.ISO14443_CARD);
    dm.addTransactionListener(this);
    }
    catch (ContactlessException ce) {
    //
    }

    ...

    public void targetDetected(TargetProperties[] properties) {
    TargetProperties target = properties[0];
    String url = target.getUrl();

    scanStatus.setString("Card found");
    }

    I already detected Mifare Cards using this line of code:
    dm.addTargetListener(this, TargetType.NDEF_TAG);

    Why doesn´t it work for Smart Cards, or did I forget something??

    Would be nice to get an answer.

    -Thanx

    Re: Problems opening an ISO14443Connection

    TargetProperties.getUr() works only for NDEF.
    To get url for ISO14443 you need to use getUrl(Class connectionName) method.

    Attached is a simple midlet to show how to do it.
    I will put this to wiki later (with comments).
