    Question Customization Framework

s60 3rd Edition Documentation talks of a Customization Framework where Operators can actually extend/customize built-in phone applications. Anyone has any experience with this? Is it done through some privileged SDKs or some other licensing mechanism.

Was very curious as am trying to figure out if there is any door open to effectively and cleanly over-ride/extend some built-in applications.

Answers would be highly appreciated. You can get it touch on munishb AT gmail

    Question Re: Customization Framework

To make the question more clear:

Is it possible to enhance/extend/overwrite the core symbian application. For example: to add some extra functionality into the SMS application. Such that whenever the user access in-built messaging functionality through inbox or compose buttons he/she can directly access upgraded application.

Are there any special privileges/permissions reqd from Nokia/Symbian? Any clue about how to go about this would be really helpful.
