    Audio recording

    Hi,

I'm developing a little app that sends audio from one client to another. i'm using jsr 135 to record audio with recordControl.

I realize that until I make a commit in the recordControl I can't get the bytes recorded.

Is there any way to get these bytes without stopping the recording?

    Thank you

I'm afraid there's no way to change this behavior. I think at least some kind of buffering takes place, so the stream is not written right away. You could try to subclass some InputStream to check the exact behavior, but please keep in mind that the spec does not require any "streaming" capabilities for RecordControl.

    Hi Daniel,

Then, can you suggest me any way to send data while it is being recorded?
I have been searching for another type of class or jsr but I haven't found anything.

    Thank for your response.

    Regards

    Hi,
Why don't you use the TWO Player model..i.e. use two players alternatively for recording..while one player records transfer the data from the second player and then record data using second player...this idea I got from a thread in the SUN JAVA forums..you can search that and i think the code is as well available there..But one catch is that there is a small delay while switching the players and hence data is lost for a sec or so..anyways u can test the code..
    All the best..
    with regards,

    Re: Audio recording

    Hi,

I had made some test using a two player models, but the result was not good enough In fact in some models that I tested the code the sound quality was awful due to that the delay was bigger than a second.

Anyway do you remember in what thread you got it? I'll checked my code with the one in the sun forum.

    Thank you for your time.
