Question s40 Theme Studio v2.2 crash on Win XP SP2

I tried installing the series 40 theme studio v2.2 and v2.1. While installation proceeds without a glitch, trying to run the application results in it crashing as soon as it starts, creates a hs_err_pidxxx.log (brief details attached below).

My machine is a Windows XP (Toshiba Tecra S2 laptop) SP2, 512MB RAM, ample hard disk space. I successfully ran the application when the machine was Windows 2000 a few months ago.

Can someone help me out ?

And, FWIW, I also tried running the application in compatibility mode with Windows 2000. No luck there

One other thing that I noted is that c:\nokia\registry has an XML file whose contents point the "<executable>" tag to something like "c:\Program Files\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_S40_Theme_Studio_2_1\bin\S40ThemeStudio.exe" and "<location>" tag to "c:\Program Files\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_S40_Theme_Studio_2_1\bin" whereas the "bin" directory doesn't exist in my installation at that location.

I can only find a bin directory under "c:\Program Files\Nokia\Tools\Nokia_S40_Theme_Studio_2_1\jre". Also tried creating a "bin" directory at the said location an moving the executables and dlls to that space, however even that doesn't work.

Obviously, I'm missing something big time, but would like to know what it is

Top of the err log file is as follows:

    # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x03404a07, pid=424, tid=280
