    Browser Problem on Device

    Hi All,

    I created a embedded browser in my application.

    I am using S60 3rd Edition FP1 SDK and device as E60.

    I am using LoadUrlL Everything works fine on Emulator but on target its not showing the HTML page. No error no crash only its not loading the HTML page already stored in the device.

    When I use LoadFileL on target a pop up comes. <APP Name>Unable to perform operation.

    I thought it might be the problem of Capabilities. I changed platsec in Emulator also than also its working fine.

    If anybody have idea what can be the problem please let me know.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Cheers,
    Adi

    Re: Browser Problem on Device

    Are you using document handler, RApalSession or Browser control API(the one in the MR packages) ?

    Basically MR API & document handler should work ok, but RApalSession will not..

    Hi Yucca,

    Thanks a lot for your reply.

    I am using Browser Control API CBrCtlInterface. But its not working. Indeed I tried out the Example Application BrCtlSampleApp provided with the SDK but it seems that also not working.

    Is there any other way to have Embedded Browser in the application.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Cheers,
    Adi

    Hi,

    You wrote: "<APP Name>Unable to perform operation."

    Is it a panic? Or the dialog is shown in the context of your application? Does LoadFileL leave with something anyway?

    Weird. Would you please show your code? Both the one with LoadUrlL and LoadFileL. I'm also wondering how you're using file paths.

    Re: Browser Problem on Device

    Hi,

    This is my code.
    Code:
    CreateBrowserControlWithObserversL(TBrCtlDefs::ECapabilityDisplayScrollBar |
            TBrCtlDefs::ECapabilityLoadHttpFw);

    iControl->SetExtent(TPoint(0,0), MinimumSize());
    iControl->SetBrowserSettingL(TBrCtlDefs::ESettingsSmallScreen, 0);

    _LIT(KUrl, "c:\\private\\<UID3>\\Test.html");
        RFs rfs;
        RFile file;
        User::LeaveIfError(rfs.Connect());
        CleanupClosePushL(rfs);
        User::LeaveIfError(file.Open(rfs, KUrl(), EFileShareReadersOnly));
        CleanupClosePushL(file);
    iControl->LoadFileL(KUrl);
    CleanupStack::PopAndDestroy(2); // file, rfs

    iCOntrol is defined in .h file as

    CBrCtlInterface* iControl;
    Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Re: Browser Problem on Device

    Try out if it works after adding the file:// scheme to the path.

    Like: _LIT(KUrl, "file://c:\\private\\<UID3>\\Test.html");

    I know it looks weird, but as far as I remember it worked this way long ago.

    Cheers,

    And you've tried it with both LoadFileL and LoadUrlL? My bet is that at least the latter should work.

    With LoadUrlL() its not giving any errors but not showing the HTML page locally stored in my device.

    The control comes with white screen.

    If you are using LinkResolver as an observer.Remove that while creating the browser. I also faced the same kind of issue. It may solve ur problem too.
    well,I dont know the reason behind it...but this is the way it worked for me.
