    Ok, i'm not quite familiar with all these mbm files thingy. I nid to know how can i create them. By including pictures into something. After that, what happens then? I'll b straight forward. My questions is

    (1) Where can i find the pictures?

    (2) How do i include the pictures?

    (3) After including them, what happens next.

    If all of u could, Pls tell me the WHOLE step. I'll appreciate it.

    Re: Application MBM file help

    Now, I've read on the internet that creating an mbm file needs to edit the command line like:

    ;Language - standard language definitions
    &EN
    ; standard SIS file header
    #{"MyApplication"},(0xEFF034DF),1,0,0
    ;Supports Series 60 v 3.0
    (0x101F7961), 0, 0, 0, {"Series60ProductID"}

    But i dun quite understand how to get them. Could sum1 tell me?

    (I've seen on the nternet that i could post my pkg file here. How can i do that? If u nid to know my pkg file, tell me and i'll post them)

    Re: Application MBM file help

    You need to create mbm file with all bitmaps u need , using bmconv tool. later u need to include header file(Whihc includes the Enum valus in rthe order given while creating mbm).

    then use

    CFbsBitmap *iImage = NBitmapMethods::CreateBitmapL(mbmfilename,mbmEnumVal);

    there are clear explanation in SDK on this topic

    Re: Application MBM file help

    when bitmaps are converted into mbm (multi-bitmaps - bitmap format for symbian) there will be two files, one .mbg and one .mbm. .mbg will have the ID´s of images (enumerations) and .mbm have the bitmaps. To access those bitmaps you will do it through its id (found in .mbg). You will need to include it in your application.

    hi,

    that depends on the quality you want to have. However note thta with increase in quality size of mbm file increases.

    Either this 2. If there's more, kindly tell me them all

    And theres 2 more questions:

    Re: Application MBM file help

    Ok, here you are:
    Code:
    START BITMAP      images.mbm

    HEADER

    TARGETPATH        \system\apps\graphics
    SOURCEPATH        ..\gfx
    SOURCE            c12  image1.bmp
    SOURCE            c12  image2.bmp
    SOURCE            1  image2_mask.bmp
    END
    This excerpt is from graphics.mmp, part of Graphics example in 1st and 2nd edition S60 SDK-s. 3rd edition is a bit different (Graphics example is re-included in FP1, but it is not part of 3rd ed noFP and MR).
    Then you need #include <images.mbg> and CFbsBitmap::Load or CEikonEnv::CreateBitmapL.
    The same example uses the latter:
    Code:
    iBackgroundImage = iEikonEnv->CreateBitmapL( KMultiBitmapFilename,EMbmImagesImage1 );
    iSpriteImage     = iEikonEnv->CreateBitmapL( KMultiBitmapFilename,EMbmImagesImage2 );
    iSpriteMask      = iEikonEnv->CreateBitmapL( KMultiBitmapFilename,EMbmImagesImage2_mask );

    Hi surprisedisco,

    Search with mbm keyword in SDK.

    Re: Application MBM file help

    Bmconv is documented in the SDK Help, and you can also read its built-in docs after learning about the existence of cmd.exe.
    Anyway, CImageDecoder is better suited for handling "random pictures" and pictures coming from the Internet.
    And you may still want to find out which SDK you use, or the model of your target device, since these things matter.
