    mifconv.exe fails with option /X

    Hello,

I have faced the problem that no application icons appeared on an Symbian 9.1 device.
I have found some threads that explained the problem but the solution does not work. See my post in
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?p=321045

There is a very strange error message:

    Code:
    C:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\Epoc32\tools>mifconv /X \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\epoc32\data\z\RESOURCE\APPS\WebClient.mif /c32 \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_

    MifConv version 1.11 build (39).

    ERROR: File not found: 2\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\epoc32\data\z\RESOURCE\APPS\WebClient.mif

    1. The file that is not found is the output file. It should be very clear that it is not found!
    2. The path begins with "2\Symb..." instead of "C:\Symb...".
    3. The option /X is described in http://forum.nokia.com/document/Foru...SVG_images.htm but it's not accepted by mifconv.

Are these bugs? Is there a new version (I use S60_3rd_FP1)?
How to understand the error message?

    Regards, grazie,
    Karsten

PS: I have invoked the tool from command line in the epoc32\tools dir and also in the webclient dir. Results are the same.

Lightbulb Re: mifconv.exe fails with option /X

    Hello,

    some further comments:

There were 3 poster who said that moving the option /X to another position would help:
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=110736
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=110959
I could hardly believe because this behaviour is unusual and the usage message displayed a list with options not mentioning the /X. Well, this should be corrected in the mifconv.exe, I think.

In the threads there is a link to a document that describes the problem and its solution (see above). Please add the hint about the option's position.

    Thanks,
    Karsten
