    MIDLET not getting started automatically by push registry

    I am not being able to start my MIDLET using the push registry mechanism. I am using the netbeans mobility pack emuluator to execute the program. In the startApp of my application I have
    connections = PushRegistry.listConnections(false);
    and whenever a connection comes it starts a new thread. But the value of the connection is always null and connection.length is zero.
    My Client keeps sending SMS requests but the server midlet in which the push registry is initiated does not start.

    In the application Descriptor I have added the following
    MIDLET class : Server.SMSReceive_S
    Sender IP : *
    Connection String : sms://:5000

    and in the API permissions I have added the following API permissions
    javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.receive, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.send

    I have even tried to start the MIDLET dynamically by calling
    PushRegistry.registerConnection(smsConnection,this.getClass().getName(),filterName);
    but that too doesnt work?

    So what am I doing wrong in starting the MIDLET automatically using push registry?

    Re: MIDLET not getting started automatically by push registry

    At least the PushRegistry entry in the JAD file seems to be incorrect. Should be following
    MIDlet-Push-<n>: <ConnectionURL>, <MIDletClassName>, <AllowedSender>
    for more info on PushRegistry in general, see
    http://developers.sun.com/mobility/m...icles/pushreg/

    For future reference, please always tell which phone you are working on. In this case it does not matter, as I think you will get rid of the problems by correcting your code

    Re: MIDLET not getting started automatically by push registry

    My entry in the jad file is

    MIDlet-Permissions: javax.microedition.io.PushRegistry, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.receive, javax.wireless.messaging.sms.send

    MIDlet-Push-1: sms://:5000,Server.SMSReceive_S,*

    Actually I am using the netbeans emulator and yet to check it out on a real device. I have made these two changes in my settings using

    Properties -> Application Descriptor -> Push Registry
    Properties -> Application Descriptor -> API Permissions
    in my Netbeans project.But still the push registry is not starting my MIDLET automatically?

    I am completely new to Java/J2me, I think I am overlooking something very basic here.... I have also gone through the push registry documentation
    and implemented it in the same manner.
