    N75 flip open and flip close event capture.

    Hi ,

    i am working on a streaming application, and so far the application works nicely on n95, n73 , e65 and 6120 devices.. Now i am facing a problem at porting it to N75. I need to capture the flip open and close events when my application is playing.

    Can anybody help me with this .

    regards,
    ravinder chouhan

    Re: N75 flip open and flip close event capture.

    Ok, am not sure if this will work.But on my N91 when I close and open the lower media cover I get a key event.So I think(I may be wrong), a key event must also be generated on the N75 for the flip event.
    So to know the exact key code ,just download the task manager for Series 60 3rd edition devices from my blog(SymbianGeek blog - http://symbiangeek.blogspot.com),it has a key code module.Install it and run and see if any key event is generated.Also do post the code here if one is really generated.
    Hope this helps.

    Re: N75 flip open and flip close event capture.

    Looks the the iScanCode for flip open is EStdKeyDeviceA (174) and for flip close is EStdKeyDeviceB (175).

    The problem that I have been running into is that my application only get the flip close if it is in the foreground when the flip is closed. It never gets the flip open keypress.

    The solution seems to be to have SwEvent capability and use groupWin.CaptureKeyUpAndDowns( EStdKeyDeviceA, 0, 0 );
    groupWin.CaptureKeyUpAndDowns( EStdKeyDeviceB, 0, 0 );

    During testing, I found that using
    groupWin.CaptureKey( EKeyDeviceA, 0, 0 );
    groupWin.CaptureKey( EKeyDeviceB, 0, 0 );
    prevents the outside screen from switching modes.

    Enjoy the information. I found the correct solution by accident and after much trial and error.

    Now if I could just figure out how to override the music key.

    Re: N75 flip open and flip close event capture.

    TInt dState;
    TInt err = HAL::Get(HALData::EDisplayState, dState);

    The EDisplayState property doesn't work in N82, it returns always err=KErrNone and dState = 1, regardless of the actual state of the flip cover, so Is there any other way to know if the flip cover is opened o closed?

    Thanks in advance.
