Post How to find the MAX - Jar size of the device

    Hi All,

    I'm new to this forum...

I want to know how to find the max-jar size of the device from the code.
is there any ways to find it?

like for heap size we can easily find it from our j2me code..

For midlet jar size we can find it from getappproperty, i.e.
    System.out.println("MIDlet-Jar-Size: " + getAppProperty("MIDlet-Jar-Size"));

please help me find the device's Max-jar size...

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards,
    Selva Karthik G

    Hi Selva Karthik G,

AFAIK there is no other way than checking the device specs, I mean, I am not aware of any method allowing you to get it programmatically.

    Hope this helps!

Re: How to find the MAX - Jar size of the device

Does anyone know if Nokia has a table defining the device and its max jar size?

We are developing a new J2ME app and we saw that some devices limits the application on 128K.

I would like to see a table like this one: http://gobible.jolon.org/phones.html.

    Regards.

    Hi,

AFAIK there is no such table, unfortunately. You must check the specs page for each target device you are taking into consideration.
