    http filter problem

    Hi all,

My problem is very strange. I have run a http filter plugin in Series 60 3rd edition FP1 (nokia N95). It works very well in emulator and device. The problem appears when I try to run the same code in Series 60 3rd edition MR (I have tested it in N80 and N91), because the method MHFRunL is never called when I surf internet from native Browser. The most strange is that I have other application which send http requests to a server, and the plugin works very well with that... When I browse pages from browser the method ConstructL and the destructor of the http filter is called, but not other method is called. It happens in device and emulator.

I don't know what could be the problem. I thought that could be the browser, but I have installed Opera, and I have the same problem.

    Please any help!

    Re: http filter problem

It was a capability problem! As is supossed there are differences between symbian 9.1 and symbian 9.2. I have obtained a developer certificate with All -TCB capabilities and the plugin is working now.

    Re: http filter problem

    Hi felixksp,

I have to make a similar application which can monitor the URL details, pageinfo etc. whenever a user browses the net using native or any other browser.
After reading your post, I think writing an HTTP filter plugin will work this out.

    I need some clarifications :
    1. I am making the application for S60 3rd FP1, will it also need the TCB capability ?
    2. If you could provide me the source code of your plugin, it will be of great help for me ?

    Thanks and regards,
    Suyash.

    Re: http filter problem

In this URL you can find the base example from which I started my project.

    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._filter_plugin

I had to sign the application with a developer certificate with All-TCB capabilities for Series 60 MR (9.1). For Series 60 FP1 (9.2) is enough with a certificate that has normal capabilities + network control.

    Re: http filter problem

    Hi felix,
    Thanks for your guidance.
I used that example and after building it a dll is created.
Now, I have two problems :

    1. Where(path) should I copy that dll in the device. (Changes required in the package file?)
    2. How to receive the HTTP events generated by the plugin, in my application? (Do I need to derive my class from MHTTPFilter and implement some function for receiving the HTTP events.)
    3. Will this filter plugin work for the S60 2nd edition as it doesn't require capabilities.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Suyash.

    Re: http filter problem

The package of the example installs the plugin in your device, and automatically you receive all httprequests in MHFRunL function.

I have never tested it in 2nd edition.
