    OnDevice Debugging Bluetooth Device

    Hi all,
Someone please guide me in buying a blutooth dongle for testing Ondevice debugging in Carbide 1.2. Am currently using Bluesoleil bluetooth device. I tried to use it for debugging in nokia E50 but in vain. In some forum threads they have mentioned about using Belkin and DLink bluetooth devices. I would like to know whether there is any specific version or model number which worked for Ondevice Debugging. While going through blutooth devices i came to know that there are different versions of Belkin dongles. Please help me in getting the right one.

    thanks,
    Anoop

Out of context..though..but why dont u wana use the USB/data cable approach for ODD...or u have specific requirements to debug using a BT dongle..?

    Re: OnDevice Debugging Bluetooth Device

    Hi..

We tried to connect using USB. First when we connected the usb to device we were prompted to select a mode. After selecting the PC Suite mode , i started the TRK application using serial port '1'. Then the application showed the status of the connection. In Carbide i set the same port ie '1' and also started the Device connectivity tool. While debugging i got the message " Unable to connect to the port".
Note: i havent installed the PC suite in my pc
After that i tried disconnecting the device connectivity tool and got the error message "Check whether TRK is running in device or Port is open". Phone hanged after this testing.

    hi,

first u need to connect the TRK module phone to the USB through a pc when it is connected make the TRk coonection always running.

Check check ur pc device manager for the port that is used for the connection.Set the same port in the IDE as described in the ondevicedebug pdf and try to debug ..

It should connect and launch as i did this both with USB and bluesoil .. both works fine for me..

    anyissues still let me know..

    hi..

We tried to connect N80 using USB. In PC's device Manager the device name is listed in "Other Devices" Section. Do i need to install Nokia PC Suite in our PC? After connecting the USB to the device in PC Suite mode we started the TRK application using port 1.. Connection established in device, but the phone hangs after that..

    yes,

u need to install a pc suit and connect the phone with the USB .. and also the port number from the device manager needs to be checked with the IDE as per the doc ..

Plz read the document carefully before starting it..

    Re: OnDevice Debugging Bluetooth Device

    Hi..

After installing the PC Suite the device COM port was listed in the device Manager. We set the same port in the IDE. Now we are trying to debug simple symbian application with out any extended capabilities. While debugging show the message as "Load Failed TRK Protocol Plugin: Failed to launch Application. (Either the application failed to install or the libraries were missing)". What could be the reason for this???? Please help us..

    thanks,

    Re: OnDevice Debugging Bluetooth Device

One thing..though..r u able to install this same app directly..i mean just through the pc suite..not in debug mode..coz that would tell u precisely what libs.or other things are missing which is blocking the app from getting installed..

i faced this same issue when i was trying to install a dependent app.

    check that though

    cheers

    Re: OnDevice Debugging Bluetooth Device

    Hi everyone,
Thanks a lot for your help. Now am able to debugg as well as run the application through USB. The thing is after installing the pc suite the device comm port was listed in the device manager. The TRK was started with the default port "1". Then i set the same port in the IDE with the necessary information regarding the pkg file, the certificate and key location and all the stuff and the application run smoothly in device.

    thanks,
