    Midlet accessing unlocked SecureElement

Just a quick question - With the unlocked secure element it is possible to install applets. I would have presumed that any midlet should be able to access the secure element without needing to be signed, however the SecurityException suggests otherwise.

So, can someone confirm if I must still sign (and therefore pay £££) a midlet which i want to interact only with an unlocked secure element applet?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Jeff

here it goes, I confirm. Pretty damn sure it works only with signed midlets, even if you just want to chat with a javacard applet. This is documented in the FAQ i think.

    Re: Midlet accessing unlocked SecureElement

I thought as much ... however all the FAQ states is "What you need is the ISD key of the secure element. This key allows full access to the SE, and therefore it must be kept secret at all times" Given I have the ISD key I assumed I would have access to the applets within the element from a midlet. Also, I thought the point of unlocking the secure element for developers use would over-ride the need for this.

Never mind - thanks for the confirmation.
