    Which mobile support package javax.microedition.amms.control.tuner?

    Hi guys,

Which mobile in the market fully supported amms, especially the package: javax.microedition.amms.control.tuner, so that I could control the built-in radio ?

    Thanks in advance!

This package is not yet available on any of the Nokia phones. See a table in here

Note that on some Series 40 devices you can use MMAPI with a non-standard locator "capture://radio"

We cannot comment on future devices or roadmaps. Unfortunately.

No Java package (API, class, library) whatsoever in any published/available SDK, as far as I know.

if you are talking about a Series 40 phone, see my first answer in this thread. If you are talking about S60 phones, then the answer is: no access to the radio from Java ME

Re: Which mobile support package javax.microedition.amms.control.tuner?

I personally develop on n95 and I have been reading the symbian OS specification.
    http://www.symbian.com/symbianos/rel...sreleases.html

It seems that there is limitation to the symbian OS 9.1, the tuner support is not mentioned, however from symbian OS 9.2 and up the tuner support was mentioned, which leaves us to the question : how to upgrade the symbian OS to 9.2?

Another question is how would Nokia be able to create the Visual Radio application even with those limitation, is there a possibility of undocumented Nokia related APIs that control radio through lower hardware level?

Re: Which mobile support package javax.microedition.amms.control.tuner?

You cannot upgrade the Symbian OS from whatever version the device manufacturer supports to something newer (or older).

Do not assume that all features/APIs that exist in a particular Symbian version also appear on actual devices based on that Symbian version; the Symbian licensee (= device manufacturer) can remove or replace things in Symbian, and of course add their own stuff, too.

Note (for those not aware of the fact): The N95 is based on Symbian OS 9.2.
