RE: Email Settings for the Nokia 7650

Paulbrow, thanks for that reply. I read it just now because I was busy with other stuff. You made me clear I mixed up several standards.
Could you please give me an example of a working e-mail setting, divided over more than 1 sms?

Email Settings for the Nokia 7650

    Hello,
I want to send Email settings to a 7650. This works fine if the total data fits in one message.
    The it looks like this:
    UDH: empty
    UD:
    //SCKL157F157F Email configuration\n
    Mname:Nokia\n
    Muid:tstuser\n
    Madr:n.n@nokia.com\n
    Mrcv:nokia.wirelessfuture.com\n
    Msnd:nokia.wirelessfuture.com\n
    Mpro:IM\n

However, when the data doesn't fit in one message and i have to concatenate, it doesn't work anymore.

I've tried this after reading Smart messaging 3.0 specs:

    UDH for part 1:
    050003AF0201
    UD for part 1:
    30002F2F53434B4C313537463135374620416C737475626C696566740D0A4D69643A4D61696C20696E7374656C6C696E67656E0D0A4D6E616D653A0D0A4D7569643A6A6F727269740D0A4D7077643A67656865696D0D0A4D6164723A6A737065654070696D696E7465726163746976652E6E6C0D0A4D7263763A706F702E6A616A612E6E6C0D

    UDH for part 2:
    050003AF0201
    UD for part 2:
    6F727269740D0A4D7077643A67656865696D0D0A4D6164723A6A737065654070696D696E7465726163746976652E6E6C0D0A4D7263763A706F702E6A616A612E6E6C0D0A4D736E643A736D74702E6A612E6E6C0D0A4D70726F3A504F0D0A

The Hex code consists of '30' + '00' + the text in hex.
This doesn't work, what am I doing wrong?

    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jorrti

RE: Email Settings for the Nokia 7650

Decoding your hex I get something along these lines:
    //SCKL157F157F Alstublieft
    Mid:Mail instellingen
    Mname:
    Muid:userid
    Mpwdassword
    Madr:address
    Mrcvop.jaja.nl
    orrit
    Mpwdassword2
    Madr:address2
    Mrcvop.jaja.nl
    Msnd:smtp.ja.nl
    Mpro:PO

Seems to be something missing ("Muid:j" ?) for one thing. Your SAR #'s are wrong (both messages claim to be part 1). I don't understand why you are adding 30 and 00 to the front of the data. You seem to be mixing BasicMail settings and ExtendedMail settings (BasicMail doesn't include "Mid:&quot. My interpretation of the spex says you should either be directing your message to port 157F using UserDataHeader values, OR you should be using //SIAP11\n to prefix your message. NOT SCKL prefix.
