    New to symbian programming

    Hello everyone. I am new to Symbian programming. I have experience in GNU/Linux development but this is my first foray in symbian.Can u suggest which is the best IDE for Symbian? Also does it run on GNU/Linux. I believe Carbide is based on Eclipse, so it probably should b cross platform. Also suggest one good book on symbian.

    You would find Symbian books and resources from this Wiki page: Symbian Resources and Books

    Following are some of the Wiki pages of your interest:
    * How do I start programming for Symbian OS?
    * S60 3rd Edition: Application Development

    As far as IDE is concerned you can work with Carbide.C++ offered by Nokia.
    * Carbide.c++
    * You can also work with MS VS 2003 IDE with Carbide.Vs support.

    Kiran.
