Post Classic N95 vs US ver. N95

hi i am new to this forum board.
and i just want to make some topic about the most famous jewel of smartphones "the N95"
ok i know that the first nokia n95 was first marketed in europe and by the mid of this year i got my first Nseries phone which is of coarse the Nokia N95. that i got from the Nokia USA website by letstalk.com
now my question is, why in world would they release a new US version of the nokia N95 for north american people?
why would they market a US version if they are already selling a classic N95 on the nokiaUSA website?
its much of a big difference from the classic one but more battery life though which is really good. so would you say that i just wasted $750 for my classic N95 and the new modified one is even cheaper by $50.
i would like to hear some comments from other N95 users on this forum board
    and share your ideas.
would the classic N95 work on US 3G networks?
would the US N95 beat the classic one?
would nokia do a handset swap for the US people to have the new modified N95 for their classic N95?

The new version for USA has support for US 3G/WCDMA networks. The original one doesn't.

    Hi,

I think that there would not be any handset swap for the US people to have the new modified N95 for their classic N95? At least it doesn't sound realistic.

Right. If you want a new device, you buy a new device. Sell the old one to offset the costs of the new one (if you don't want to keep both).

In the US the frequencies that other countries used for 3G/WCDMA were used for other purposes (including the military, I think). The US goverment did not want to forcefully free up those frequences, so others had to be used, instead. End result: A 3G/WCDMA radio that works in other parts of the planet will not work in the USA (and vice versa).
