    Question <form> tag not working on xHTML-MP

    Hi,
    im trying to put a search box in my page, and search box is not working on my mobile,

    what am i missing

    i have tested the functionality online it works!

    will open in IE too, ive programmed it to give WAP2.0 when accessed via browser.

    the following is the code, when i type something, and i hit enter, the index.php page loads, and nothing happens,

    Code:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD XHTML Mobile 1.2//EN" "http://www.openmobilealliance.org/tech/DTD/xhtml-mobile11.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <title>Search Results for : web</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="/wap/wireless.css" type="text/css" />
    </head>
    <body>
    <p class="title">
    <img src="/wap/images/logo.gif" width="80" height="25" alt="" />
    <br /></p>
    <p class="title2">Search </p>

    <form method="get" action="/wap/">
    <p class="content2">
    <input type="text" id="search" name="search" size="10" value=""/>
    <input type="submit" value=" Go " />
    </p>
    </form>

    <p class="content"><a href="/wap/" accesskey="1">HOME</a></p>

    Here the page works in both Opera for Symbian and N90 default browser.

    I have two suggestions.

    first one: remove the bars at the end of <input>, so that they'll be:

    Code:
    <input type="text" id="search" name="search" size="10" value="">
    <input type="submit" value=" Go ">
    second suggestion - implement a specific name for search script in your server (i.e. search.php).

    Usually, "action" parameter ends with the path to a server-side scripting language (should be php, in your case), and in your code, action="/wap/" ends empty.Although it isn't a error in the code, it would be better if you could fix it to improve compatibility among different phone browsers.
    I mean:

    Code:
    <form method="get" action="/wap/search.php">
    one more thing: since "get" is the default value of "method" parameter, you don't need to explicitely specify it.
    Then, again:

    Code:
    <form action="/wap/search.php">

    best regards

    Re: <form> tag not working on xHTML-MP

    Could i ask what Samsung you're using with a Nokai 3.0.1 browser? I'm trying to understand if the Samsung C266 can accept xhtml. It's Accept headers suggest it doesn't support xhtml but only WAP 1.2 but it's UAP tells me it has a Nokia 3.0.1 Browser which I thought does support basic xhtml.
