    RMS questions -- updating and deleting records

    Hello.

    My Environment;
    Device: Nokia E61
    Operating System: Symbian OS v9.1
    Developer Platform: S60 3rd Edition
    Accessories: I think all users will have memory cards but I don't know the size of them.
    I am writing records to RMS. Each record can have a different size and some records can get deleted at some time while other records may get updated. When a record is updated is it a bad idea to write the new record back to the same recordId as the old record even if the new record is larger than the old one? Or should I first delete the old record and create a new one?

    Also, when a record is removed is it ok to delete them or do I have to somehow reclaim that record space, if so, how do I do this without getting too complex in the code?

    the following article

    should give you a good overview of how to manage the records in your application.
