    Installing SIP Resolver Plugin on device

    Hi all,

    i developed a SIP Application and i tested it on emulator. Because i wanted to receive SIP messages, i developed a SIP Resolver Plugin and i installed it on emulator. It works and is ok.
    Now i'm testing my app on device and i need to install SIP Resolver Plugin on device (E 61), but i don't know what i have to do.

    Please, help me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alessio

    Unhappy Re: Installing SIP Resolver Plugin on device

    Hi all,
    is there anyone who has installed sip example, provided by SDK, to the phone?
    How did he install SIP Resolver Plugin?

    I've build my plugin for release and i've seen that between files generated there is SipResolverPlugin.dso, in the same folder (Epoc32\release\armv5\lib) where there aren't all libraries (with extension '.dso') for release building.

    For installing resolver plugin on the phone, should i add SipResolverPlugin.dso to all libraries that i need for building my sip application?

    Please, help me!

    Thanks in advance,

    Alessio

    Re: Installing SIP Resolver Plugin on device

    sipex_gcce.pkg in the SIP example tells you all you need to know. The files required for a SIP resolver plug-in on the device are:

    (1) The plug-in DLL itself, which goes in sys/bin and comes from epoc32/release/gcce/urel (assuming you are doing a gcce build).

    (2) Plug-in resource file, which goes in resource/plugins and comes from epoc32/data/z/resource/plugins.

    I've installed the example on the device AOK.

    Re: Installing SIP Resolver Plugin on device

    Thanks KevinD,

    i've successfully installed plugin on the phone and now it works, but not completely.

    In fact, when i receive sip message "MESSAGE", with content type "text/plain", my app receive correctly the message (i set capabilities of resolver plugin for receiving text/plain and application/sdp). Instead, when i receive a sip INVITE, my stack responses 488 not acceptable here, even if i add sdp lines correctly in plugin capabilities about my app.
    What could it be?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alessio

    Unhappy Re: Installing SIP Resolver Plugin on device

    Hi all,

    SIP resover plugin's behaviour on the phone is really strange!

    The same plugin works perfectly on the emulator while it has some problems on the phone.

    My capabilities are:

    <SIP_CLIENT ALLOW_STARTING="YES">
    <SIP_HEADERS>
    <ACCEPT value="application/sdp"/>
    <ACCEPT value="text/plain"/></SIP_HEADERS> <SDP_LINES>
    <LINE name="m" value="audio 5062 RTP/AVP 8 0 2 3 97 110 101"/>
    <LINE name="m" value="audio 16386 RTP/AVP 0 8"/>
    </SDP_LINES>
    </SIP_CLIENT>

    and my .rss file is

    RESOURCE REGISTRY_INFO theInfo
    {
    // UID for the DLL
    dll_uid = 0xE00001EC;
    // Declare array of interface info
    interfaces =
    {
    INTERFACE_INFO
    {
    // UID of interface that is implemented
    interface_uid = 0x102010DD;
    implementations =
    {
    IMPLEMENTATION_INFO
    {
    implementation_uid = 0xE00001EC;
    version_no = 1;
    default_data = "E3CB9372";
    }
    };
    }
    };
    }

    On emulator i have no problems.
    On the phone i can receive correctly sip messages with content type = "text/plain"; instead, when i receive sip messages with "application/sdp" sip stack responses 488 Not Acceptable here and doesn't pass the message to my app.

    I've tryed to do some changes in capabilities and .rss file, but i couldn't solve the problem.
    If someone could receive INVITE messages on phone, please help me!

    You are not going to be able to receive an invite in the form you want - The Nokia telephony app is grabbing it and bouncing back the 488. You need some application-specific information to make sure the Nokia stack doesn't pull it out. See http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...okia_SIP_Stack
