    Kern-Exec 3 error in view & container files

    Hi friends,
    I am adding about image in my application. I have create the bitmap file in constructL function & calling it from view class. My problem is that application is running on device (its showing the image) but when I press any softkey then Kern-Exec 3 error comes on device.
    When I run the appl. on emulator then it crashes. I debugged the appl. & it got the halt point (crash point) The point is at DoactivateL function in View file.
    I tried a lot to remove this error but its not going.....
    please help me out....

    if you are deleting any objects, do a null check and then delete. anyways as yucca mentioned post your doactivateL function here.

    Vice versa: the "rule" is about deleting the object, then nulling its pointer:
    Code:
    delete iSomething;
    iSomething=NULL;
    Note that "delete NULL;" is safe (no check is needed, actually it does nothing), while accidental double-deletion panics.

    Re: Kern-Exec 3 error in view & container files

    HI,
    I had already done these steps but still the error is not going. I am showing infomsg on device before showing the image, infomsg shows that "image created" but as soon as I click on the back button its shows me panic....
    when I debug the appl., at the end of Doactivate function of view file it gets halted.
    Code:
    void CImageView::HandleCommandL(TInt aCommand )
        {
        switch ( aCommand )
    	{
        case EMultiViewsSwitchToView2:
    		{
    		iAvkonViewAppUi->ActivateLocalViewL(TUid::Uid( EMultiViewsView2Id ) ); //TUid::Uid( EMultiViewsView1Id )
    		break;
    		}
    }
           }
    This code I am using to go back to the view2. but this also is not coming on the device. I have defined the enu. data in hrh file & also defined in .rss file.
    Whatever all of you told already that I have checked... Its correct... (dereferenced the pointers to NULL)
    What is protection faults? What is alignment checks?

    Did you add breakpoints in DoActivateL of view2 and check. check whether that breaks somewhere.

    Yes, actually my appl. is breaking at destructor of container2.cpp. This is happening after the image gets created at constructL function of abtcontainer.cpp file. I have declared the view object in appui class & defining at constructL class. Sometimes its showing the image on the device & sometimes coming out of the appl. I have dereference the view pointer in appui destructor & dereferencing the container pointer in doactivateL of view file.
    I am following the steps of the multiviews architecture but still its giving me error....

    Re: Kern-Exec 3 error in view & container files

    here I am not deleting the second view object when I am trying to display the 3rd view (abt image view). Is this can be cause for kern-exec error?
    Should I dereference the view2 object & then initialize the 3rd view object?
    & also simulteneously the container objects...

    Re: Kern-Exec 3 error in view & container files

    Sometimes image coming on device & sometimes its not showing anything.... While checking this particular appl. I saw strange error. I was using two 6600 devices. On one device its not giving KERN-EXEC 3 error while on other its giving me KERN-EXEC 3 error. Why this so?
    Still I am unable to open that file in emulator. but sometimes working on device that means there is no flaws in logic somewhere something is missing.....
    please help me out...........
    Thanks in advance.
