    Exiting the MIDlet in recordDetected()

    Hello,

    I am trying now to exit the MIDlet after processing the records in the recordDetected() method and it does not work (does nothing).
    On the other hand, doing the same processing in the targetDetected() method works.

    recordDetected is used to handle the PushRegistry
    targetDetected is used in a manual mode (vs PushRegistry).

    In both cases, I am calling:

    destroyApp(true);
    notifyDestroyed();

    I am leaving the application as I am opening a URL using platformRequest(), which executes it in the background (waiting for user confirmation to launch the browser).

    Thanks for helping me

    Olivier

    Fixed my issue by just setting a recordProcessed flag and testing this in another thread that is responsible to leave the application.

    Re: Exiting the MIDlet in recordDetected()

    hi obrand

    I'm new to J2ME and I'm wanting to do exactly what you try to solve - To close the current Midlet BEFORE the platformRequest() launch the browser.

    My application will run platformRequest() when it is at RecordDetected(). I need to close the midlet before it asks me whether I want to go to the webpage. But I can't.

    Please provide me with more details on how you solve this. Thanks very much

    Re: Exiting the MIDlet in recordDetected()

    According to my observation, when you execute platformRequest(), application stay there untill you finishes your platform request and then goes next to exit application.

    What if you create a new thread to execute platformRequest, just try it!

    I think platformRequest executes at the top of the application
