Executing a 3rd party program from my program

    Hi
Is it possible to write a program that executes a 3rd party program and stays in the background until the 3rd party program is closed?
If so, can my program do something in the background while the 3rd party program is running?
Any information will be most helpful

Re: Executing a 3rd party program from my program

You are interested in if this is possible using Java ME, right?

platformRequest only allows starting a browser or placing a phone call - you cannot start other applications from your MIDlet.
Whether or not your application can stay on the backgroudn and do some processing while another application is on the foreground depends on the platform you are running your MIDlet on (S60 yes, Series 40 no)
