    Power Saver problem

I created a timed application, that displays some data on screen. It runs 60 seconds after phone goes Idle. But I have a problem with power saver. Because it always pops up over my application. I was wondering if there is a way to show my app over power saver. Or any way that I can delay or disable power saver from the code.

    cheers,

    N.-

    Re: Power Saver problem

If you look in the settings (depending a little on exact phone model) you'll find you can change the time before the power saving mode comes into effect and also how long before the backlight is turned off. You can't turn it off completely.

In theory you might be able to keep the phone alive when not in use by spoofing some key events to keep resetting the idle timers before they expire but this would be EXTREMELY BAD!

With the big bright displays on new phones the reason they go into power saving modes and often even switch off altogther is that they use a LOT of power. Interfering with the power saving mechanism will seriously reduce the battery life of the phone. People won't use your application if they have to recharge their battery every day! I think you need to reconsider the whole concept.

User::ResetInactivityTime() - should work but will kill the battery life if you keep doing it for any length of time.

You can't draw over the screensaver in general because it isn't a normal window. On some hardware there is just enough memory on the display for the screensaver stripe across the screen. The power consumption of the display is proportional to the number of pixels lit - so just enough are provided to get the time and a few status indicators on there.
