    Hello sam & welcome to the forum

    There is a module named location that can be used to know the cellid of a device.
    The following code can be used to know the cellid

    Code:
    import location

    mcc, mnc, lac, cellid = location.gsm_location()
    print cellid
    You can get more info on cellid on this link
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._cell_location

    I didnt get your point when you say cellid can be used for checking the range and the towers? What do you exactly mean by that?
    If you are talking about the signal strength (by tower) then sorry to say cellid is not for that purpose.I have tried to run the cellid script wehn the phone is in Offline Mode.And guess what cellid is available.Thus cellid is not for checking signal strenght.

    If you are interested to know the signal strength available then you can use the cyke64's sysagent for that..

    Here is a post related to cyke64's sysagent

    Hope that helps

    Sign the SIS package that you create, with a dev cert or open signed online (www.symbiansigned.com) with the required capabilities to use them.

    Do you sign it with all capabilities?

    And do you sign it using Open Signed Online?

    Note that ensymble creates self-signed pacakages by default.

    i dont know why is that, and i can install everything on device. it is simply not up to capabilities, i think it is by sysagent.pyd

    I don't think that there in another extension for it. Unless someone has made it for personal use.

    I still believe that the problem is with your packaging or signing.

    For this use the code below:

    Code:
    >>> import time
    >>> time.strftime("%H:%M", time.localtime())
    '20:28'
    Hope it helps,

    For Bluetooth switching on 3rd Edition devices use extension BlueS by Cyke64.
    Remember you will need to get it signed for using it.

    Moreover, if you need to check whether there are any new SMS in the inbox use the Sysinfo module, there is a nice snippet about it in the Wiki,
    Sorry I can't give you the direct link, as the Wiki is not opening for me right now
