Question How secure are memory card password protection?

In a Nokia phone you can choose to password protect your memory card. If the memory card is moved to another phone or a computer, nothing will happen or be seen.

My question is, how secure are memory card password protection on s60 3 edition?
Is anything encrypted? Is it just another file system? Where can I find more information about this?

You might get the info from the MMC or SD card specifications:

    http://www.mmca.org/home
    http://www.sdcard.org/home

I don't think S60/Symbian does anything above and beyond what the card technology allows/supports.

If you find the appropriate spec and answers, please do post it here for the benefit of everyone.

Question Re: How secure are memory card password protection?

Haven't found anything interesting about the memory cards. All I can find is that microSD support DRM.
Is everyone sure it's the memory card that handle the encryption/password and not Symbian OS?

I don't know about everyone, but I'm sure. If it wasn't handled by the card, and card specifications/standards, then the cards would not work in other devices (digital cameras, USB card readers, etc.). Symbian/S60 just provides the UI to set, change or remove the card password, etc., but it has to be compatible how the card specs say things should be handled.
