    Bluetooth: package fragmantation

    Hi all!!

I'm using a Python script for a server/client system over Bluetooth.

The server is on the Mobile Phone: it sends a packages stream from the Mobile phone to a laptop.

    I use RFCOM protocol.

    The Packages size is 1328byte.

    Problem:
at the client side (the laptop), each package arrives fragmented into 2 pices: their size is around 625 byte.

Does somebody can explain this fragmantation?

    Thank u!!

    Re: Bluetooth: package fragmantation

    Hi alessandro82,
You are most likely seeing the result of the MTU (maximum transmission unit) of L2CAP, according to the Bluetooth specification the default is 672 bytes. It's been a while since I've worked with it, but that could be the reason.. If you where using L2CAP directly you would have to take care of fragmentation yourself, however since you use RFCOMM it takes care of it for you..
