    positioning.position() doesn't work

    Hi!
    I'm using an N95. I need to use the GPS inclueded in this N95 for retriving the GPS location. I tried this code on the Bluetooth console but it doesn't work. I don't know why. Can you help me?

    import positioning
    (...)
    positioning.position()

    thank you!

    Is your Python script shell signed with required capabilities? Probably at least SurroundingsDD capability is needed,
    Grants access to logical device drivers that provide input information about the surroundings of the mobile phone, for example global positioning system (GPS) device drivers.

    Thank you very much!
    Now I check for that capability.
    I have another question: do I need special capabilities to use the sensors module on the N95?

    Hi aaaapo!
    You managed to obtain the GPS information,didn't you?
    I have read this discussion (#14):

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=356816

    there bergec pointed a particular version of Python (1.3.23). I'm using Python 1.4.1. Could this be a problem?
    What is your firmware version?I have the latest version...

    I try to explain better the results I have.
    I can used the positioning module but the displayed information are these:

    >>> import positioning
    >>> positioning.position()
    {'satellites': None, 'position': {'latitude': NaN, 'altitude': NaN, 'vertical_ac
    curacy': NaN, 'longitude': NaN, 'horizontal_accuracy': NaN}, 'course': None}
    >>> positioning.position(course=1,satellites=1)
    {'satellites': {'horizontal_dop': NaN, 'used_satellites': 0, 'vertical_dop': NaN
    , 'time': -62168259600.0, 'satellites': 0, 'time_dop': NaN}, 'position': {'latit
    ude': NaN, 'altitude': NaN, 'vertical_accuracy': NaN, 'longitude': NaN, 'horizon
    tal_accuracy': NaN}, 'course': {'speed': NaN, 'heading': NaN, 'heading_accuracy'
    : NaN, 'speed_accuracy': NaN}}
    >>>

    Can you suggest me anything?
    Thanks, Chiara

    Read the friendly manual (PythonForS60_1_4_1_doc.pdf), chapter 6.6 positioning, and there follow the example in subchapter 6.6.1.
