    symbian sign

I already compiled my 1st SISX!

Thanks to all support guys! Specially to Jethro!!!

Now, my new concern is, how to make my SISX can able to install to another mobile device?

Its so irritating that I need to get ".CER" for each device i want to test and install my mobile application.

    Please help!

    Hi,

You can check this thread here for details of current signing issues:
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=90799

Basically if you don't use any other than user grantable capabilities then you could self-sign rather than using a devcert.

I've you do need to use other capabilities then you are stuck with one IMEI per devcert for now (unless you buy a publisher ID). Soon though there will be Open Signed:
    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ht=Open+Signed
Then you will be able to have your sis files signed by an automated online service, just providing the IMEI for the phone you want it signed for.

    Hope that helps,

As far as I know an exact date hasn't been announced. I'm expecting it in the 1st quarter of next year - but I'm an optimist!

How to buy? How much? where to buy?
If I buy it, does it mean i can distrubute my mobile application to any symbian 3rd edition phone?

    Thanks!

A publisher ID costs $200 a year. To have your application install to any phone without IMEI restriction, you will also have to get your application Symbian Signed.

With a publisher ID by itself you will be able to get a developer certificate valid for more than one IMEI.

You can get all the latest up to date information on Symbian Signed from the website here:
    https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page

You can buy your publisher ID from here (link from the document about new certificate authority on the above website):
    https://www.trustcenter.de/cs-bin/Pu....cgi/en/155102

    Hope that helps,

P.S. One of the other changes to Symbian Signed coming up soon is Express Signed which will be just $20 and no external testing to get your application Symbian Signed. You have to make sure you pass all the test criteria first though - they will test some applications and publish results.
