    Smile How to assign an icon to to my application

    Hello, After a lot of effort , I was able to write an app which says out loudly whatever text we type (Text2Speech). Basically, I modified the editor example in the SDK. Now, i wish to know

    1) How to assign an icon to my app?
    2) The text editor window does not look that pretty. How can I make it theme aware (I mean, it should be in the same colour/style as my current theme)
    3) Is it possible to use the text editor similar to the one in the messaging app? Any API/Class to do this?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
    1) How to assign an icon to my app?
    Are you working on 2nd edition or 3rd edition devices.

    In the BaseConstructL() or your AppUi class enable the skin support.
    Code:
    BaseConstructL( EAknEnableSkin );

    Thanks Priju. I am working on my N73, which is a 3rd edition device.

    I will try these things out and get back if I have any questions.

    Any thoughts on creating a full screen editor with a larger font size?

    Re: How to assign an icon to to my application

    A similar call already exists in my code!

    Code:
    void CAknExEditorAppUi::ConstructL()
        {
        BaseConstructL( EAknEnableSkin );

        // Show tabs for main views from resources
        CEikStatusPane *sp = StatusPane();

        // Title
        iTitlePane =  static_cast<CAknTitlePane*>( sp->ControlL( TUid::Uid( EEikStatusPaneUidTitle ) ) );

        // Fetch pointer to the default navi pane control
        iNaviPane = ( CAknNavigationControlContainer* ) sp->ControlL(
            TUid::Uid( EEikStatusPaneUidNavi ) );

        // Create and view.
        CAknExEditorView* view = new ( ELeave ) CAknExEditorView;
        CleanupStack::PushL( view );
        view->ConstructL();
        CleanupStack::Pop();    // view
        AddViewL( view ); // transfer ownership to CAknViewAppUi
        }
    Anything else needs to be done?

    Thanks for your help
