Exclamation Unable to compile HelloWorldBasic with S60 3rd edition

I have installed the s60 3rd edition SDK FP1. Also i have perl
    5.8.822, jre 1.6.0_03, VS 6.0 and VS 2005(no sp1) and carbide.vs 3.0 installed.

I tried compiling from the command line the HelloWorldBasic program in \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\S60Ex\ which comes with the
    installation.
I couldn't compile it successfully. This is what i gets as output

I tried running VCVARS32.BAT from visualstudio directory but of no use.

Somebody please help me to solve this.
    Thanks in advance

Angry Re: Unable to compile HelloWorldBasic with S60 3rd edition

The problem is fixed!!. I forgot to close the emulator. There was some acces problem for resource files when emulator was open.

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...149#post323149

Is there anyway i can see the result in the emulator? I tried running the epoc command from the command line. But wasn't able to run the program. I navigated to the Installed Files in
Organizer\File Manager. But couldn't find any directory named HelloWorldBasic.

    Please help me with this.

You should rather visit the "Installat..." group in the Menu.

yes i tried accessing the "Installations" folder in the emulator. But couldn't find the "HelloWorldBasic" folder in it.

Also the result of compilation is

Thumbs up Re: Unable to compile HelloWorldBasic with S60 3rd edition

    Problem is now fixed!!!

I uninstalled carbide.vs and installed carbide.c++. There was some problem with environment variables also.

    Once again thanks for everyone..

Re: Unable to compile HelloWorldBasic with S60 3rd edition

    Hi symbianguycpp,

Just out of curiosity, is there a particular reason you tried to compile with the command line when you were using Carbide.vs? Was there a problem building in Visual Studio IDE?

Another question for you: did you use the "Carbide.vs command prompt" (that you open from visual studio) or just a normal command prompt?
