Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

Request for a new developer cert (now it expires after 3 years with 10 caps instead of 13 because official RDAplugin use 10 caps ...
So select the following capabilities : ReadDeviceData , WriteDeviceData , SwEvent , NetworkServices, LocalServices , ReadUserData,WriteUserData,Location,SurroundingsDD,UserEnvironment
    OH NOOOOOOOO! NOT THIS AGAIN!!!!!!
This is the most stupid, most useless, mosts sh... I've ever seen...

This MUST be some KIND OF DEVELOPER HELL: Who the heck is able to explain, why a Shell, which has MORE privileges than the module, it uses, is unable to run the script?!?

This is not a good suggestion... Have you ever tried to go to the certificate request? You must have done this, but obviously you forgot the pain!?! They have some Captchas there, must be stolen from a braindamaged devil... Absolutely unusable the site!!

BTW: I'm currently trying to login to https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page.... System Error, Error in system data... Tsssss... It is rediculous! The credentials are valid, I'm sure.

Sign your Python shell dev with your new special 10 caps.

And go back with feedback to the DiBo

    Each problem has a solution
    Hi neil,

Ah so atlast you got your axyz running on unsigned..that might have releaved you..Try the solution suggested be Cyke..
I think thats what you should be doing. And you also know the reason why location module returns NONE in unsigned version!
Sign your Python shell dev with your new special 10 caps.Try it may be you can solve your problem and you could be able to use all modules smoothly on your new signed shell!
Its pain going through all those procedure but its seems habitual once you get used to it

Try Logging again to the site.If the credentials are valid (as you mention) then it should get you in some time.

Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

No, friends, that is not working, sorry...

Meanwhile I can login to symbiansigned.com. Later last evening I got something like a "Maintenance" error...

But - they have changed somthing very basic. I'm able to find my previous devcert, but I'm unable to complete the steps as I have done with my first (you know, the captchas).

Could one of you knowing please doublecheck symbiansigned.com and give me a hint, how to get the final cer file nowadays???

    Regards

Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

    Service unavailable
Due to extremely high levels of traffic, the site is currently unavailable.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please try again later.
Received this evening while trying to enter developer forum...

Who the hell does cause the extreme high traffic? Guess Murphy...

But again: Could anybody please point me to the site, where to get the developer certificate??

EDIT: In order to illustrate my current problem with symbiansigned I have attached a screenshot from the fabulous TheCompleteGuideToSymbianSigned.pdf: My Problem: THERE IS NO OPEN SIGNED ONLINE LINK.

I'm getting nuts (if I'm not already crazy)...

    Page http://developer.symbian.com/main/signed/ says:
Open Signed, has updated and replaced Developer Certificate signing, making it easy for developers to sign applications for limited deployment to known devices, either for testing or for personal use. The online-only option is coming soon.

    Hi Cyke,

I really appreciate your efforts, but I cannot confirm this...

I must do something really wrong. What I do is:

    1) Request a dev cert with the desktop program - works
    2) Go to http://symbiansigned.com, login
    3) ... There is no visible indication about how to proceed...

Would you mind to advise me step by step?

    Regards

    Thanks for your appreciation
    Try these steps :
When you are logged in symbiansigned with your account click on My Symbian Signed and choose Open Signed -> Request

I hope that you succeed in your attempt to generate a new cert !

Little tip for you for the security code : DON'T ENTER any character(A to F) in uppercase even if it's displayed like this !!!!! ALWAYS enter characters in lowercase

Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

HURRRRAYYY!! There it is!! Many thanks. Now I only have to fight the unreadable captchas.

    Thanks. Let you know.

Still the question: As you said, I've got 13 caps (as it is defaulted by the request tool). Why isn't your 10 caps signed lib a subset of my 13 caps? Do you know that?

Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

    No, doesn't install...

Here is the capability list, my current certificate has:

    Capabilities for the certificate
    LocalServices
    Location
    NetworkServices
    ReadDeviceData
    ReadUserData
    SurroundingsDD
    SwEvent
    UserEnvironment
    WriteDeviceData
    WriteUserData

So it has exactly that 10 caps, you suggested.

In difference to my previously used certificate there is only

    PowerMgmt
    ProtServ
    TrustedUI

    missing.

I can sign the shell successfully, but any attempt to install it on the phone results to:

    "Required program access not granted"

during installation via Bluetooth and PC Suite.

    Completely lost..

It seems that you have the following error

Have you made the following files ?
    1) Python shell unsigned 10 caps (the Python Shell unsigned is 13 caps so doesn't work ! You HAVE to unsign and resign this file with 10 caps (use ensymble to do it !)
    2) axyz module unsigned with 10 caps !
    3) plugin module 10 caps (easy ! it's the default in Nokia Research Center site)

Sorry, but I don't understand that comment

What I did up to now, is the following:

    1) Using signsis.exe to sign PythonScriptShell_1_4_1_3rdEd_unsigned_freedevcert.SIS using the 13-caps certificate ---- Anything OK, install OK, axyz excepts as descibed above

    2) Using signsis.exe to sign PythonScriptShell_1_4_1_3rdEd_unsigned_freedevcert.SIS using the 10-caps certificate --- Cannot install signed shell, error "Required application acces not granted"

I always thought PythonScriptShell_1_4_1_3rdEd_unsigned_freedevcert.SIS is what the name says: unsigned with none caps, usable as template for developer certificates?!

This file has been created with exe file inside with 13 caps !

Because of the 13 caps it doesn't work with only dev cert with 10 caps. This error message is displayed because the exe file needs 13 caps instead of ten ...

Not at all the python script shell 1.4.1 unsigned has been created with 13 caps (ALL dev cert caps). If you use 10 caps now it doesn't work. There are many files in the sis file and the exe file needs 13 caps. You have to unsign the sis file and resign it with ensymble !

Re: Demo: 2D physics using sensor module

I really regret to be that stupid...

You have to unsign the sis file and resign it with ensymble !
What is the option to unsign? I called ensymble with

ensymble.py signsis --cert xxx --privkey xxx --passphrase xxx PythonScriptShell
    _1_4_1_3rdEd_unsigned_freedevcert.SIS PythonScriptShell
    _1_4_1_3rdEd.sisx

That made a new signed PythonScriptShell
    _1_4_1_3rdEd.sisx, but the error remains...

    Regards
