    screen layout problem

    I started to deal with screen layout in S60 3rd, and I've ran into an interesting problem...
    If I start my app in landscape the screen changes to landscape but my app layout remains as normal, so for example the CBA-buttons are at the bottom of my app and not on the side near the softkeys, and the app occupies only a part of the screen in the top left corner also.

    In my AppUI class I use BaseConstructL(BaseConstructL(EAknEnableSkin | EAppOrientationLandscape)), is there anything else I have to do for the proper landscape layout?

    Thanx

    Try adding an explicit SetOrientation. This might be a model/firmware-related issue too.

    I have no experience with your particular device, but not all devices support orientation changing. For example E61 and N91 cannot change orientation.

    Have you tried doing.

    HandleResourceChange(TInt aType)
    {
    CCoeControl::HandleResourceChange(aType);
    //view specific code
    }
    in your view containers.

    And have you added your views to the view server using AddViewL(iViewName)??
    Cheers

    Re: screen layout problem

    You do not need views or CCoeControl-s for changing the orientation...

    I tried it on a Nokia 3250, and it works fine, so this might be a device issue.

    Re: screen layout problem

    Opera Mini does not use the regular S60 screen furniture as I remember, most probably it does not rotates the screen, instead it simply draws rotated content. Since browsers do the rendering for themselves anyway, rotation is not that hard.
