    Widget toolbox

    Hi

    I'm interested to hear what are the tools you are using for Widget dvelopment. I myself use UltraEdit for css, html and javascript. I preview the html in FireFox then use the SDK and RDA. I made a small .cmd file to zip-rename.

    Have you been able to find anything more visual?

    My Windows-based Web Run-Time Widgets toolchain:

    - Firefox 2.x
    - Firebug (http://getfirebug.com)
    - Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/)
    - S60 3.2 beta SDK
    - Web Run-Time (WRT) Desktop Development emulator
    (http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/ja...ng/2007/11/21/)

    BTW. One can circumvent the tedious process of creating the .wgz package by editing files directly off the emulator filesystem, e.g.:

    C:\Symbian\9.3\S60_3rd_FP2_Beta\epoc32\winscw\c\private\10282822

    (The last directory "10282822" may be randomly generated, if that is the case you'll have to dig into other directories under private.)

    Re: Widget toolbox

    Firefox, Firebug and Greasemonkey (with an XHR security bypass script) are the primary tools. No IDE but rather UltraEdit in Windows, TextMate on Mac and more recently also the TextMate "clone" called "e" for Windows (http://www.e-texteditor.com/). Safari is a secondary tool as it tends to have the same issues as the S60 WRT when you run into something strange that you can't reproduce on Firefox.
