    Differences between Nokia and Ericsson

There are some anoying differences these phones in the way they show wml.

For example some problems I have is that after a link 7110 makes an automatic
but ericsson's phones it does not and if you put a
then 7110 shows an extra empty line. The same thing goes for selections...

Does anyone have a solution for how to get them to look the same?

One solution I can think of is if I somehow could detect which phone the user is using and then type a
depending on what phone it is, but I don't have any ideas how I could manage to make such a detection... Do you?

    Thnx, Hans

You can try to get the user agent cgi variable to identify individual phone, check with your web server's documentation on CGI variables

RE: Differences between Nokia and Ericsson

You must be referring to one of the problem regarding LINKS and INPUT FIELDS and newline, example:

    SIMULATOR
    INPUT 1: [ ]
    INPUT 2: [ ]

    7110 Phones
    INPUT 1:
    [ ]

    INPUT 2:
    [ ]

    7110 Phones
    INPUT 1:
    [ ]
    INPUT 2:
    [ ]

    SIMULATOR
    INPUT 1: [ ] INPUT 2: [ ]

The above 4 examples are very confusing huh? What we do to make sure that it would behave properly is to use P tags instead of BR. This saves a lot of line spaces for display.

The way the P tag works, it makes it as a separate line. Most of our WAP applications uses the P tags very liberally instead of the BR tag for line separation.

But then again, these are true on 7110 and R320 and we have no other phones to test it out with to know the effects on other phones.
