    MMAPI implementation

When a player is created using MMAPI, is this the native player provided by the underlying platform/os or is this a separate player implemented by the MMAPI implementation?

I have a canvas playing a streaming video clip(using rtsp protocol). When I tested this on N76/N95, the user agent is shown as Real Player. Is this the native player provided by the OS and used by MMAPI?

Can I get names of some native players / players used by MMAPI implementation. I suppose it is Real Player in case of some latest N-Series phones.

    Thanks,
    Veena

    Re: MMAPI implementation

Yes, it is the native player on the device. It will be the Real Player for all of the current Nokia S60 phones but I believe will change to Helix DNA client in future. Some variants ship with a PacketVideo player rather than the Real Player I think.

Presumably all S40 phones use the same user agent string to refer to Nokia's proprietary streaming client implementation?

For other manufacturers phones it will depend what streaming client they license or implement. I'm not aware of a comprehensive list anywhere.
