There are several related quotes from Star Wars, like "Use the Search, Luke" or "May the Search be with you".
    You are not a newbie.

Re: Checklist -- Illegal recognizer usage for auto-start -- whats the other way?

    Hello,

I want to auto start my application each time when phone reboots.
If I want to auto start it after application installation then I can use attributes with file name in pkg "RI"

I have used startup list management Api for auto start.. but according to checklist its not useful now.. so any other way?

plz provide any pointer to this.....

    thanks

On the abstract term, Startup List Management is not the Recognizer. As wizard_hu_ suggests search in the SDK help for more detail on Startup List Management API.

In brief, You can of course use Startup List Management API for autostarting your application.

    Hello,
According to Checklist -- Illegal recognizer usage for auto-start in Symbian+Signed+Test+Criteria+3.0.1_ISSUED.pdf

"Check the Package (PKG) file indicates
that there is a RSC file installed to the
    c:\private\101f875a\import-directory and is
    named <package UID>.RSC
If the file is present the developer
    must also declared upon submission
that they do NOT use recognizers to
    achieve auto-start functionality, but
rather that recognizers are included for
    other (legitimate) purposes."

By reading this explanation I got cofused ...as by using Startup List Management we have to use one <package UID>.RSC.

plz guide if I m getting it wrongly.

why wouldn't you do as the Wiz said, "search", basically in 3rd edition you gotta go with the startup list thing, its your only option for autostarting. and it is documented in the SDK, as well as it has been discussed penty of many times, so with a bit of searching you can find plenty of good information.

Even if you wanted to use a recognizer it will NOT work on FP1 devices anyway
