    carbide vs 3.0 problem

    hi,

    i install the visual studio 2005 and carbide vs 3.0
    but when i am compile helloword application it gining 2 errors
    1) Error 1 error HLP: Help compilation failed with code 255
    CompileItem
    2)Error 2 error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code
    from "Executing tool..." Hello


    if any one have idea about this problem than please replay

    As you only post part of the compile output I need to guess, but I think that the first error caused the second.

    To compile help, you need to make sure you have the 5.6.1 version of Perl as well as check this FN tech note for rtf format: Creating CS Help: ID TNS000217.

    Good question, in the move from the old tech db to the Wiki it seems to have gotten lost? The key info can be found here:

    Excellent. Thankyou.

    I managed to get around this problem by uninstalling the version of ActivePerl i had (5.10) and installing version 5.6.1.

    If you are really facing the same issue, you should really consider applying the same step (as described in #5) in order to fix it...
    Otherwise provide more details on your configuration.
