    Unhappy Softkey Errors using Flashlite 2.0

    Ive created an application in the Flash Lite 2.0 format using Macromedia Flash Professional 8, and have tested it on the Nokia 6300 emulator and everything functions correctly.

    Ive tested the application on the Nokia 6300 handset and the softkey maps fail to operate and the default Flash behaviours operate instead (e.g the flash menu with the left softkey, and the quit command with the right softkey).

    Ive been trying to solve this issue for a while now and have checked everything such as:

    * checking to make sure that the actionscript language is ActionScript2

    * remapping the keys using the following code
    fscommand2("SetSoftKeys", "left", "right");

    I cant see any problems with the key listener i have added either:

    var myListener:Object = new Object();
    myListener.onKeyDown = function() {
    var keyCode = Key.getCode ();

    if (keyCode == ExtendedKey.SOFT1) {
    gotoAndStop("chooseCharacter");
    }

    else if (keyCode == ExtendedKey.SOFT2) {
    fscommand2("Quit")
    }

    Any suggestions to solve the issue will be very much appreciated!!

    Are you running the swf in the Flash Lite player?

    The attached code works fine on my Nokia 6300...
    (I placed it in the first frame)
    br, Mathias

    fscommand2("SetSoftKeys", "left", "right");

    var myListener:Object = new Object();
    myListener.onKeyDown = function() {
    var keyCode = Key.getCode();

    if (keyCode == ExtendedKey.SOFT1) {
    gotoAndStop("chooseCharacter");
    } else if (keyCode == ExtendedKey.SOFT2) {
    fscommand2("Quit");
    }
    };
    Key.addListener(myListener);

    Re: Softkey Errors using Flashlite 2.0

    Hi

    I have had this problem before.

    setSoftKeys fails on the Nokia 6300 when using null as a parameter (trying to set text for one soft key only)

    I did this workaround which has worked for me. I needed to remember the text for both keys.

    if (whichShoulder == LEFT_SHOULDER) {
    this.leftSoftKeyText = rqdText; // @ICworkaround
    fscommand2("SetSoftKeys", this.leftSoftKeyText); // @FL2
    } // endif: left
    else {
    this.rightSoftKeyText = rqdText; // @ICworkaround
    fscommand2("SetSoftKeys", this.leftSoftKeyText, this.rightSoftKeyText); // @FL2
    } // end else: right
