Get rid of virtual mouse in FL3 browser plugin

My company is currently developing an FL3 application that requires use of the browser. The problem is that the app has a key-based nav system that no longer works because the browser version of FL3 adds a virtual mouse which overrides all mouse events. How do I shut this off? Thanks in advance for any help...

    Player: FlashLite 3, web browser

    Ciao,

you are referring to the WRT+FL3 integration or FL3 content within a mobile web page?

In the WRT, there are two navigation modes, cursor and tab, but you cannot remove the "virtual mouse".

I suspect it's the same for a mobile web page with FL3 content.

    hi,

I never tried it before but you can try embed the flash lite app inside a widget, and set the widget navigation to false.

    widget.setNavigationEnabled(false);

Please, let me know if it works for you.

    Hi,

I have tried embedding it as a widget, but I couldn't even get focus inside the swf regardless of how setNavigationEnabled is set.

Why it is that one cannot hide the virtual mouse escapes me...

    Thanks for everyone's help!

    hi,

i have the same problem. it seems that when you open the swf in an embedded htmn site (with all the object things) flash light detects the swf as a normal flash 8 swf file. In this case you loose all flashlite focus.

there are 2 ways you can fix it:

    1) redirect the html entry page directly to the swf
    2) open directly the swf file.

the second method has another advantage, it leaves the internal nokia html stuff and gives you some more stability and better memory management. the swf will directly open with the internal flash lite 3 player (if it is correctly installed on the phone).

i hope adobe will fix it, cause if you open a video in the swf, fl3 automatic rotate the hole movie.

    hope that helps.

    hi,

maybe you can use SWF2Go 1.5 which supports FL3, and your application will start from menu icon and in standalone mode, no mouse thing

(read the new user guide which is updated for v1.5)

The only issue with this approach (for us) is that the standalone player does not persist server-generated sessions, so as soon as our user logs in, their session is over.

Still no cure for the virtual mouse...

Re: Get rid of virtual mouse in FL3 browser plugin

I built a widget and set my SWF as the MainHTML key in the info.plist. While I swear it used to open Flash Lite and run the program, I soon found that it would only display the white screen with the cursor.

The solution I found for this was to set the MainHTML key to an HTML page and place a meta refresh tag targeting the SWF. This has continually worked for me, although if there's a way to eliminate the use of an HTML file I'm all ears.
