    Thumbs down Recorder not working in Sun Java(TM) Wireless toolkit 2.5.1

    Hallo alle,

    I am trying to record audio and this is what i am doing.

    ------------------------------------
    Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://audio");

    p.realize();

    RecordControl rc = (RecordControl)p.getControl("RecordControl");

    rc.setRecordStream(boutA);

    rc.startRecord();

    p.start();

    form1.append("recording..");

    Thread.currentThread().sleep(5000);

    rc.commit();

    p.close();
    ------------------------------------

    the bove code is working fine when i try and run it in netbeans 5.5 using J2ME wireless toolkit 2.2 as a Emulator platform and again work nicely when installed and executed in Nokia E-65. but when i try to do the same in "Sun Java(TM) Wireless toolkit 2.5.1"(i need to do it as i have to implemet SIP). it gives me error in the emulator saying "java.io.IOException: Couldn't open audio input".

    Do you have multiple Emulator instances at the same time which is recording the audio ? Or is there some other PC apps using Audio recording ?

    Regards

    hi gopal,
    Thanks a lot for replying back.
    well i am usingonly one amulator to test my application.i have two of them viz. WTK 2.2 and WTK 2.5.1 but i am using them one by one. so it is working on the earlier one and not on the later one. Also i am not executing any other application at the time when i am running my application so i am pretty much in the same situation as earlier.

    if u have some other suggetions.

    thanks

    Re: Recorder not working in Sun Java(TM) Wireless toolkit 2.5.1

    Sorry, I dont have WTK 2.5.1 installed in my current machine to give a try. I tried a recording MIDlet in WTK 2.3 and it works fine. Can you trace at which line of code is this Exception occouring. Do you have some other MIDlet which records Audio(Just to give a try).

    Regards
    Gopal

    Re: Recorder not working in Sun Java(TM) Wireless toolkit 2.5.1

    hello again Gopal,
    The error comes in the following line,

    --> Player p = Manager.createPlayer("capture://audio"); <--

    also i tried recording the same using WTK2.2 and its working fine in the Emulator as well as the phone if installed on one. but the same line refuses to play in WTK 2.5.1 (i told u that i need this emulator as i need to work with SIP and the API's are available there). Also if i create a jar file from the WTK 2.5.1 and install the same on the phone it is working fine but not when the emulator is working. i need to test the application at the same time for SIP as well as recording.

    my other MIDLET which has the same line of code works . on the WTK2.2

    No other programm is accessing the Audio input that it should show any input error .

    Still not able to remove the problem .
